To Privilege A Single Perspective

2016 - 2017

Role: Artist

Personal: Sculptural installation (Steel, perspex, cellophane, 3D printed models & video projection)

-

This installation engages with our complex relationship with the natural landscape and it’s potential to induce the sublime. Through obtaining accurate information of mountain terrains for the 3D models as well as direct footage of the sky, the viewer is presented with a version of the landscape that is removed from reality; a reproduction that feels both familiar and unknown. The elements of this installation together produce an illusion of depth, space and process, reflecting the mystifying nature of the landscape.
